After the Long Silence

Can it really have been 3 1/2 months since Trevor and Thelma became engaged? Life has been so very busy here in the country since then. I was so sorry to have to put aside my blog temporarily, however, there was no question as to the necessity of doing so. I'm so thankful to those of you who have kept checking back. I truly appreciate you and thank you for your patience.

The wedding was a week ago, Saturday. It was so beautiful. It was beautiful because it culminated the all too-brief journey I was blessed to take with my dear son. Our nearly twenty-three years as Mother and son was sweet, but how I look forward to many even sweeter years with the addition of his dear Thelma.

How wonderful that there are now "three aprons on the hook".

It seems I've become a mother again . . . this time to turkeys! And I've got a real terrific helper!

For now, (and I mean a very brief "now") there home is in this tub in the kitchen. They have to be kept at 95 degrees for a week, then 90 degrees the next week, etc. until they are down to 70.
After that, they go outside!
My dear husband bought me a heat lamp to keep them warm. It's really fun watching them grow. I clean out their home most every day.

Thank you dear friends for visiting with me today. It's time for me to go get supper; it's easy tonight. I'm fixing three different kinds of soups; leftover chili from last night, a flavorful chicken and vegetable with Parmesan cheese from Sunday's dinner, and leftover black beans and rice. And we'll top it off with fresh-baked whole wheat bread!

It was so good to see a new post from you, Mrs. Castlebury! Your posts have been missed - they always seem to inspire and/or encourage me. :)

What you shared in this post was so sweet . . . your children are blessed to have such a loving mother!

The little turkeys are cute! I am sure they have been bringing much entertainment and enjoyment to you all. :)
