Sharing Garden Seeds with a Friend

I am sorry to tell you that I will be away from my blog for about a week. I hope to catch up with after that. May the Lord bless you this week!

Have you ever admired the old seed packets of long years ago? Aren't they beautiful and nostalgic? They make me think of some little Mother cultivating a bit a beauty around her homestead. Or maybe, they are the inspiration of a once loved, but now long neglected garden surrounding an old Victorian house in a now busy downtown neighborhood.

I have wanted to put some of my garden seeds into my own packages for some time. I have an old version of Print Shop, which I use for everything I do for personal use. It has some really wonderful graphics.
So I went to work, last Friday and found the graphics I wanted, imported them into Publisher, where I had a template set up for the actual packages. Then finished them up on Saturday. Just in time to put into a special "care package".

I purchased a pot of glue from Small Meadow Press to use on many paper projects. (You can see it in the center of the picture ~ a silver pot.) It is archival quality and acid free. And it smells like almonds! It would be great for scrap booking, I'm sure.

I call myself "Inspirations of the Past". Do you like the name?

This is a great thing to do if you hate to see all your garden seeds go to the compost pile.

I hope you will have some fun with this project! And do try that glue!

Dear Sharon,
I will miss you so much this week! I pray you and your family have a wonderful and safe trip! May the Lord bless you too!!!

I enjoyed this post so much! Sharon, you write beautifully, and it takes me back to a gentler time! The seed packets you made are so pretty and I just love mine!!! I planted them yesterday and thought of your dear friendship and generous heart!!!

Thank you for sharing how you made them and the pretty photos! I am so glad you shared that you liked the glue that Small Meadow Press carries. I have wanted to try that and now I will have to order some!

Indeed, I love the name, "Inspirations of the Past." It suits you so well! Just lovely!

I enjoyed all the lovely photos but I especially loved the last one of a very beautiful and feminine lady and a dear friend! Do I see that my "little package" arrived safely?

I look forward to your return!!!
Bless you!

Dear Sharon,
I did not know you were back home until just now! I am so very glad you and your family arrived home safely, where, as you said, "your heart is!" How true!!!

Oh yes, I received my sweet handwritten cards from you and Ashley! I cherish them both!

Did you both receive the cards that I sent while you were gone?

You are so very welcome for the sweet comments! You are a good encouraging friend!
