A Special Outfit for My "Little One"

I really enjoy making special clothes for my little ones. Of course, it's been some time since I had a "little one" to sew for, but what a delight that I am once again occupying myself this way! The "fruit of the womb" is a wonderful gift from God and it my belief that women who know God should delight in and welcome the 'having' of children.

The pattern I used was Circa 1950 Overblouse Suit by Belles and Beaus. It is an out of print pattern. I used Aunt Martha's Denim Dan embroidery pattern, but because it was too large for the overblouse front, my young friend, Thelma, re-drew it for me to a proper scale. I was delighted! (She told me she couldn't draw!)
I used a small piece of Hancock Fabric's cotton sateen for it. It is soooo soft. You just have to try some. Ashley and I are both plotting summer blouses out of it.

Sawyer was as cute as a button in his little outfit!

Oh Sharon,

I love dear Sawyer's sweet little outfit!!! I am so glad to see a close up of the adorable embroidery you did on his shirt! You embroidery beautifully!!! I can see how much you enjoy making special clothes for your little ones. I am so very happy you have your sweet Sawyer to sew these things for. I love what you wrote and agree with you wholeheartedly, "The 'fruit of the womb' is a wonderful gift from God and it is my belief that women who know God should delight in and welcome the 'having' of children."

I love the pattern you used, and your dear young friend Thelma did a wonderful job of re-drawing the embroidery to a proper scale. I think she has a hidden talent!

The photo of Sawyer is just precious!!! You can see what a happy, loved, and cherished "little man" he is! I can see he is appreciative of these adorable outfits you make him!

Sharon,

That outfit is priceless and sure to become a family heirloom. I am working on my sewing skills, so that I can tackle some of the more difficult patterns!

You are a wonderful Momma!

Kindredly,
