Hymn For The Lord's Day

NO OTHER PLEA

Lidie H. Edmunds, 19th Century

My faith has found a resting-place,
Not in device nor creed;
I trust the Ever-living One,
His wounds for me shall plead.

I need no other argument, I need no other plea,
It is enough that Jesus died, and that He died for me.

Enough for me that Jesus saves,
This ends my fear and doubt;
A sinful soul I come to Him,
He'll never cast me out.

My heart is leaning on the Word,
The written Word of God,
Salvation by my Saviour's name,
Salvation thro' His blood.

My great Physician heals the sick,
The lost He came to save;
For me His precious blood He shed,
For me His Life He gave.

I need no other argument, I need no other plea,
It is enough that Jesus died, and that He died for me.

"In those days came John the Baptist, preaching . . . and saying, "Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. . . . Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance. . . I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier that I. . . he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

Hi there,
What a beautiful blog you have, and such a fitting hymn (Although at first I thought it said "No other pea" :).) Your flowers are very lovely, as well.

May the Lord bless you for sharing with the world!

Thank you for the encouraging words, Marqueta. I looked back at my title, and must agree with you, that at first glance, it does seem to say "pea" instead of "plea". It got YOUR attention, didn't it!?

Dear Sharon,

Thank you for sharing this beautiful hymn and the wonderful scripture! I also enjoyed all the beautiful pictures of your lovely flowers there at your homestead. Such sweet simple things to enjoy!

Thank you so much for your sweet words! You are an inspiration to me!!! Yes, Justin is looking more grow up, indeed it does tug at a Mother's heart, you know that well, and you are right it only gets better! Justin is celebrating his 13th birthday today! Adam is off work and they are out fishing this morning.

I hope you have a lovely week my dear, sweet friend!
Love you!
